How to Write a Letter With the Preprinted Logo on the Side
You can enhance the image of your business when you use papers that are pre-printed with your logo for your correspondence. If the logo includes your company's name and contact information, then it is not necessary to create a header or type these details every time you write a letter. It is important to follow business etiquette when writing a formal letter and make adjustments for the location of a logo when using pre-printed paper.

1
Measure the width of the area containing the logo with a ruler. Open a new document in your word processing program. Use the width of the logo to set the margin for the side of the paper where the logo appears. For instance, if the logo is 1.5 inches wide and on the left side of the paper, then set the left margin at 1.5 inches. Allow a 1-inch margin for the top, bottom and right side of the paper.

2
Type the current date on the top left side of the letter. Use the full date, such as December 12, 2011. Leave two spaces beneath the date. Write the name and address of the person to whom you are writing.

3
Leave two spaces beneath the address. Write a formal salutation to the recipient. Formal salutations usually begin with "Dear," followed by the title and full name of the recipient. Leave a single blank line under the salutation for the body of the letter.
-
4
Create a context paragraph, content paragraphs and an action paragraph. The context paragraph informs the reader of the purpose of the letter, the content paragraphs provide additional information and the action paragraph lets the reader know what the expectations are of the parties involved.
-
5
End the letter with a closing line placed two spaces below the action paragraph. Leave four spaces beneath the closing line for your written signature then type your full name and business title.
-
6
Insert the paper with the pre-printed logo into the printer tray. Make sure that it is placed appropriately so that the text prints on the front of the paper. If you are unsure of the placement, make a mark on a blank sheet of paper and use it to print a test copy of your letter. Take note of the side of the paper on which the text prints and use this as a guide when inserting the pre-printed paper.
-
7
Examine the letter to be sure that the text does not overlap the logo. Sign the letter when you are satisfied with the appearance.
