This may become necessary if you switch computers or add an extra computer to your network, and find that you cannot get an Internet connection.       Power off your computer completely.

      Examine your modem for a button labeled "reset." This will likely be a small button, recessed under the surface of the modem.

      Press and hold the reset button for 10 to 30 seconds, or until the modem lights flash and begin to reset themselves. Use a small pin, such as a safety pin, to press this button.

      Allow the reset process to complete. Wait until the DSL light stops flashing and remains solid, indicating an Internet connection.

      Power on your computer and check for an Internet connection.
