How to Make Your Own BioShock Costume
"BioShock" is a video game world full of creepy enemies and scary little girls, known as Little Sisters that takes place in a city called Rapture. Little sisters are genetically altered children used to collect ADAM, unstable stem cells, from the corpses of the people in Rapture. If you are a "BioShock" fan, recreate your own Little Sister costume using clothing you find at your local thrift store. The costume requires little sewing skills and the finished product costs far less than purchasing a premade costume.

- Blue dress
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Sewing machine
- White dickey
- White binding
- 4 white buttons

- White, half apron

Purchase a blue dress from you the thrift store. Ideally, the dress should fall knee length with a full skirt, short, cap sleeves with white trim or lace and a white color. Since finding something exactly like a Little Sister dress is difficult, a plain blue dress is fine.

Cut the hem of the dress to 1/4-inch longer than the desired length. The dress should fall just above the knees once hemmed. Fold the edge of the dress 1/4-inch and pin it with straight pins. Sew along the hem with a sewing machine and remove the straight pins.

Wear a dickey with a white collar under the dress, if the dress does not have one. Alternatively, leave the white collar off.

Cut a piece of binding the same length as the sleeve's circumference, plus 1/4-inch. Place the binding around the cuff of the dress. Pin the binding in place using straight pins. Use a sewing machine to attach the binding to the cuff, overlapping the ends of the binding. Remove the straight pins. Repeat the step with the other sleeve.

Attach four, 1/2 inch round white buttons to the front of the dress using a needle and white thread. Position the buttons down the front of the dress in a square pattern. Place the first two buttons 2 inches below the top collar on either side of the dress and the second two buttons 2 inches below the first.

Squirt some fake blood to the front of a white, half apron. Smear it slightly and allow it to dry overnight. Look for aprons at your local home store or kitchen supply store.

Brush your hair into a ponytail that sits at the crown of your head. Secure it with a ponytail holder. Tie a large, white ribbon into your hair to make a bow. Alternatively, use a bow attached to a hair barrette.

Tips & Warnings
In the game, Little Sister is barefoot. However, if desired wear a pair of white tights to keep your legs warm. Then, wear a pair of white flats or a pair of black Mary Jane shoes. Little Sister often carries a harvester to collect ADAM from the corpses. Purchase a prop version of the syringe-type device from a prop store or make your own with PVC and a glass jar.
