How to Install Perma-Seal on Tubing
Perma-Seal is a brand of weatherproof electrical splices and terminals. Using Perma-Seal splices allows you to seal electrical wires together without having to use a conduit to protect the electrical wires from the weather. Perma-Seal splices and terminals are commonly used in car and boat wiring applications to weatherproof the connections. When you wire a car or boat, you must know how to remove the loom tubing, also known as cable tubing, to successfully install the Perma-Seal connectors. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Open up the cable tubing if it is sealing the wires you wish to work with. Cable tubing is split in the middle; pull it apart with your fingers to expose the wires.
-
2
Strip off about 7.6 mm of the electrical jacket from the end of each of the wires you wish to splice together. If you will be connecting the wires to a terminal, strip off just those wires. Clamp down at around 7.6 mm from the tip of the wire with the wire stripper and pull it off to strip off the jacket.

3
Place the striped wires into each end of the Perma-Seal butt splice. If you are connecting the wire to a terminal, push it into the end of the terminal.
-
4
Turn on a heat gun and heat the center of the splice. Move the heat gun from side to side to heat up the entire splice. Keep applying heat until adhesive flows from the splice. If you are connecting a terminal, apply heat to the terminal until adhesive flows from the terminal.
-
5
Replace the cable tubing by snapping it back in place. The wires are now successfully spliced, and the terminals are ready for use.
