How to Promote and Demote Bookmarks in Acrobat
A bookmark refers to a link with text representing the page or the view in the Acrobat document. You can create your bookmarks to attract users or make the navigation easier for users. When bookmarks are of no use anymore, you can delete or demote them. This instruction's environment is set in Acrobat PDF document.

Double click on your Acrobat PDF document to open it. Click the "Bookmarks" panel at the right side of the document. Click the "Options" button to manage the bookmarks.

Navigate to the page to which you want the bookmark to link and click "New Bookmark" from the list of options. Click "Tools," "Select & Zoom" and then "Select Tool." Click and drag the area via the select tool to select the chosen text or image that you want to bookmark.

Click the "Bookmarks" tab and place the new bookmark under it. Choose the new bookmark from the "Options" menu and enter a name for it.

Click the "Bookmark" tab to demote a bookmark, then select the bookmark you want to demote. Press the "Delete" key on the keyboard to delete the bookmark.
