How to Get the Pack Rat Avatar in Neopets
Neopets, the virtual pet website, released a Pack Rat avatar in 2004 designed to be used on chat boards. To obtain this avatar -- and be considered a pack rat -- you need to collect 1,000 unique items and place them in your Safety Deposit Box. If you need help figuring out 1,000 different items, check out a pack rat list for some ideas. There are no benefits for having this avatar beyond being able to show it off on the chat boards.

Acquire 1,000 unique items. Take note that having two of the same item won't count toward this total. These items can be purchased in official Neopets shops as well as user shops. They can also be obtained through trade, found at the Money Tree or given to you by other players.

Click the inventory icon -- comprised of a picture of a potion -- on the top of any page. Click "Quick Stock" at the top of the inventory page and click the bubble under "Add to Safety Deposit Box." After doing this, click "OK." This will send all items to your Safety Deposit Box instead of having to add them one by one. Because you need 1,000 items, however, you will likely repeat this process many times. It doesn't matter which method you use to put items in your Safety Deposit Box.

Click the Safety Deposit Box icon -- comprised of a picture of a safe -- on the top of any page. A notice will appear on the top of the page informing you that you have earned the Pack Rat avatar.
