Start your music software. Click on "MIDI Setup Menu", "Devices," "Options," "MIDI preferences" or "Equipment," depending on your software. Click on the sound card MIDI input and output driver of your computer so the program records the information going from your MIDI keyboard into your sound card. Set the "Output Driver" to use the "MIDI Out," "MPU-401" or "External MIDI" to have the sound be produced by your keyboard.
