How to Make a Long Faux Hawk
The faux hawk hair style has been in vogue over the past few years, and there are many different ways to wear the style. The style is similar to a mohawk, except that the head isn't shaved. Many people think of the faux hawk as a style for short hair, but people with long hair can wear the style too. The long haired faux hawk is easy to style. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Large round brush
- Hair spray
- Hair dryer (optional)
- Large barreled curling iron

Tease the hair all the way back making sure to get rid of the hair part, whether it's straight down the middle of the head or off to the side. Use a large round brush to sweep the hair back and add volume. You can leave the hair either flatter or with more of a voluminous poof depending on how you want the faux hawk to be.

Grab two small sections of hair above each ear and pull them back. You can either use a hair clip on each side to keep the hair in place, or simply make a small pony tail in the back hidden underneath your hair.

Add loose waves to long hair in back with a large barreled curling iron to give the hair some texture and style. Loosely wrap the hair around the curling iron and hold for about 20 seconds.

Finish up by spraying the hair with hairspray to give the style hold and sheen.

Tips & Warnings
Some people may find that using a hair dryer with the hairbrush to simultaneously blow and brush your hair back can give hair more volume.
