Chat spies give users the ability to record conversations and chat logs within regions in Second Life.

"Second Life" is a free online community for people from around the world to come together and explore virtual locations while making new friends. In Second Life, players have the chance to purchase and create custom objects, clothing and properties to live in virtually such as homes, offices or dance clubs. When online in Second Life, users are vulnerable to being spied on or monitored by other players who are looking to bother gamers or by virtual enemies attempting to gain information or your own personal chat logs. Disabling and stopping chat spies in Second Life is possible by purchasing various systems from the official Second Life marketplace, depending on the extent of the issue.

Instructions

Log in to your Second Life account using the downloadable gaming application to begin entering the virtual world. Once you successfully log in, the last place you visited with your Second Life character will load.

Visit your location or home in Second Life where you would like to disable chat spies and help to detect them (you must own the property you are debugging).

    • 6

Open your Second Life character's inventory by pressing "CTRL" + "I" on the computer's keyboard and locate the newly purchased "bug scanner" by locating the name of the item you purchased on the marketplace. Follow the item's specific manual for preference setting instructions as each custom object has various developers, functions and features.
