How to Draw an Organ
An organ is an instrument similar in design and sound to a standard piano, but it creates sound with the assistance of large pipes as well as the traditional strings. An organ allows players to add resonance to the notes being played, which echoes the tones in a more mesmerizing way than a piano. If you wish to draw this particular instrument and all of its parts, select a picture that will best help you detail each of the organ's sections from the intended angle.

1
Sketch out a rectangular shape in the middle of your paper to act as the basic body of the organ. Use a ruler to help you draw the straight lines of the body. Lightly stroke your pencil to create these lines until you are confident in the size and shape of the organ body.
-
2
Use the ruler and draw a horizontal line near the bottom of the organ's body to act as the guideline for the keyboard. Draw a secondary horizontal line just above this to create the keys. Define the keys with small, evenly spaced vertical lines between these two horizontal lines. Depending on the angle you are drawing, you may or may not need to include the black keys between each of the white keys.

3
Study the picture you are using as a reference and note how the body of the organ is designed past the basic rectangular shape you have drawn. Use the ruler to help you define both sides of the organ's cabinet, ensuring that both sides are proportionally featured. If necessary, draw small boxes to represent each of the different switches on your particular organ.
-
4
Draw each of the organ pipes using slender, oval-like shapes. The heights of these pipes will vary, as the size determines how each one will sound. Draw small, horizontal openings near the tops of each one of these pipes to designate the individual slots that emit sound.
-
5
Add any remaining details of the organ, such as fashioned designs or rounded edges. Draw each of the pedals that form near the foot area of the organ with small, oval-like shapes. Use light pencil strokes until you are confident in the rough draft of the organ and all of its hardware.
-
6
Trace over all of the intended pencil lines with an ink pen to create a clean and bold appearance. Be careful to not accidentally trace over any of the guidelines. Let the ink dry, then completely erase any remaining pencil marks from the page.
