How to Allow Shell Access With Plesk

Shell access is a way of remotely controlling a system using command-line input. You may wish to give shell access to an advanced user's account to allow them to make use of basic UNIX system tools, command-line editing, SFTP and crontab support.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into your Plesk account using your administrative username and password.

    • 2

Click "E. Manager" on the top of the screen, then select "Shell Request Manager."

    • 3

Click "Allow" to the right of the username you'd like to grant shell access to. The specified user can now log into the system using a secure shell client.
