How to Write a Fitness Brochure

How to Write a Fitness Brochure thumbnail
Fitness brochures can be both a marketing tool and informational.

Creating a fitness brochure which could consist of a workout routine, stretches or general fitness tips, is a way to advertise your fitness facility or personal training services. Brochures also act to increase knowledge and interest in physical fitness. When creating your fitness brochure, know what you are writing about before you begin. Decide what content you want to include, whether it be a particular workout routine, general workout information like stretches or information on weight lifting.

Instructions

    • 1

Get the necessary software. To create a brochure to either print yourself of have printed by a professional company, you can use either Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign. Microsoft Publisher is easier to use for beginners.

    • 2

Take pictures. Ask a friend to take pictures of you while you are doing the exercises you are describing in your brochure.

    • 3

Choose your colors and font. Your brochure should catch the most attention possible; using bright or bold colors will do this. Your font should be easy to read, such as Arial or Times New Roman.

    • 4

Lay out the brochure. Add in headings, text boxes, and photos on the inside pages of the brochure and title, photo and contact information on the front. Make sure to include some white space -- space that does not have an element in it like text or a picture. It makes the brochure more visually appealing and easier to read. The way you do this varies depending on the program you are using.

    • 5

Write your copy and insert it into the text boxes that you already placed in your brochure. Make sure that you write your brochure to your audience. For example, if you are writing this for beginners, include step-by-step instructions for each workout movement. Decide on headlines for each of the sections; they should be short and to the point, not exceeding three words.

    • 6

Insert your pictures into the brochure. Make sure they are placed so that they are near text that they correspond to. Also add a picture to the front of the brochure that will catch the attention of consumers.

    • 7

Decide on your title and place it on the front of the brochure. Also put your contact information on the front if you are a business such as a gym or personal trainer.

    • 8

Proofread the brochure for spelling and grammar; then it will ready for you to print or send to a printing company to print professionally.
