How to Get Double Line Spacing in Excel 2007
Formatting the rows of data or text in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or workbook into double-line spacing can make the information clearer and easier to read, particularly if you print out a hard copy of the document. The primary function of Microsoft Excel is data management rather than word processing, so there's no automatic formatting tool to change rows of data from single-line to double-line spacing in the same way that you can with the text in a Microsoft Word document; in Excel, you need to change the character height of the rows in your workbook or spreadsheet.
Instructions
-
-
1
Launch Microsoft Excel 2007.
-
2
Click the "Office" button, then click "Open" to open the Excel spreadsheet or workbook document that you want to edit.
-
-
3
Select the rows in the document that you want to change to double-line spacing. Do this by clicking the first gray row button in the left-hand column and dragging your mouse down the document to highlight all rows.
-
4
Right-click the highlighted area of the document. Select "Row Height" from the context menu. This brings up the Row Height pop-up window that displays the current row height. The default height is usually 12.75 or 15, but this can vary by font type and size.
-
5
Select and delete the current height value in the input box and replace this with a new value that is double the previous value. For example, if the displayed height is "12.75," enter a value of "25.5" to give the document a double-line spaced appearance.

6
Click "File" and then "Save" to save your changes.
