How to Create an Acknowledgement Page in Dreamweaver

How to Create an Acknowledgement Page in Dreamweaver thumbnail
Create an acknowledgement page for your website to confirm receipt of form information.

Adobe Dreamweaver is a popular application used by web designers to create Web pages. After creating a template for your website, designing additional pages will be easy. Acknowledgement pages provide confirmation to users after they sign up for a newsletter or fill out a form for transmitting information. They are quick to create because they do not require much text and add professionalism to your site.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "File," then "New." Select "HTML page" from the Blank Page category of the New Document dialog box. If you would like your acknowledgement page to contain the same CSS layout as your previous pages, select a CSS layout from the Layout column. From the DocType (DTD) menu, select one of the XHTML document-type definitions. This gives you the benefits of XML while ensuring compatibility with older versions.

    • 2

Select a location for the layout's CSS from the Layout CSS pop-up menu, if you selected a CSS layout from the previous step. "Add To Head" adds CSS for the layout to the head of your new page. "Create New File" adds CSS for the layout to a new external CSS file, attaching the new style sheet to your page. "Link To Existing File" is useful when you are using the same CSS layout across multiple documents. Click the "Attach Style Sheet" icon to select an existing CSS style sheet.

    • 3

Click "Create." Click the "Design" tab to open the text editor. Type your acknowledgement greeting.

    • 4

Click "File," then "Save." Navigate to the folder in which you would like to save the file. It is best to keep all files for one site saved in the same folder. Type a name for the file and click "Save."
