Instructions

  1. Scanner Not Working

    • 1

Unplug the AC adapter from the Uniden 350 series scanner, and unplug it from the wall. Check the battery charge (look for the green light) in the scanner. Plug the adapter back in, and turn the unit back on.

    • 2

Flip any wall switch or external electric switch that controls the plug where the Uniden scanner is plugged into.

    • 3

Check all cords from a DC plug adapter or connection, and make sure they are solid and in the Uniden jack.

    • 4

Check the power switch in the Uniden, and make sure it is turned on.

    Reception Issues

    • 5

Follow the antenna wires to the back of the scanner, and make sure it is plugged into the antenna jack.

    • 6

Set the scanner in another location with a better view of the sky, such as by windows or in open areas.

    • 7

Purchase a larger antenna if you live in a rural area where coverage is restricted by geography.

    Scan and Weather Functions

    • 8

Turn the squelch dial to alleviate white noise when on the Weather Station. Turn left or right until the static goes away.

    • 9

Use the squelch to control the scanning if the scan function won't stop. Use the squelch to get better and clearer reception, which impairs the Uniden scanner from stopping on frequencies and channels.

    • 10

Check the lockout function to make sure the channel selection is "On." If it is set to "Off," the scan function doesn't stop on string signals.

Tips & Warnings

  • When in doubt about anything, make checking the antenna connection the first thing on the list of troubleshooting.
