How to Slow Scroll on Movie Maker

Movie Maker allows users to slow scrolling text by stretching the timeline.

Movie Maker is a animation and film editing application for Windows that allows users to edit the properties of digitized video data and splice footage together into a continuous piece of video. The application contains a host of built-in effects that can be utilized in order to further alter video data. The text scroll tool allows users to embed scrolling text data in the video. The speed of the text scroll can be altered using a simple click-and-drag method.

Instructions

1. Select a clip in Movie Maker. Click "Tools" and select "Titles and Credits." Select "Titles" and enter the scroll text.

2. Select a font, font size, and color. Close the window and click the "Play" button to view the scroll.

3. Click "Show Timeline" to arrange the clips in timeline view.

4. Click-and-hold the black dot on the right side of the text scroll clip. Drag the clip left and right to alter the size of the clip. The more space the clip occupies in the timeline, the slower the clip will appear during playback.

5. Click "Play" to view the adjusted scroll speed. Repeat this process until the scroll speed is correct.
