How to Change Your Background on Photobucket

You can update the background image for your Photobucket albums.

When you manage your photos on Photobucket, the free online picture-hosting service, you might want to change the background image for your photo albums, just as you might enjoy changing posters in your office or the desktop image on your computer. The background photo you choose could tell visitors what kind of pictures they can expect to see in your photo albums or just show off one of your favorite images. You can easily change your background in Photobucket.

Instructions

1. Launch your Web browser, go to the Photobucket website (Photobucket.com), and log into your account.

2. Click "My Albums" at the top of the page, and then click "Themes." Click the "Customize Your Theme" tab. Click "Choose" in the "Background Image" tab. The Choose a Background Image dialog box opens.

3. Click the "Image Search" tab if you want to look for an image posted by another Photobucket member. Type a search term in the search box, and then click "Search." Thumbnails of the images from the search results appear. Click the "Use Your Own Image" tab if you want to use one of your Photobucket pictures. Click the pull-down menu to select a photo album. Thumbnails of the images appear.

4. Click the "Position" pull-down menu, and then click an option such as "Center" or "Bottom" to set how you want the background image positioned. Click a thumbnail to set the image as your background.

5. Click "Save All Changes." A message appears, asking whether you would like to apply the background image to other photo albums. Click the check box next to each album to select it and then click "Apply," or click "Skip" to just apply the background image to the one album for which you selected the background.
