How to Find the DNS With cPanel on Linux

Every website uses domain name servers to resolve an alphanumeric URL into an IP address. This tells your browser where to go when you enter a website's address. If you own a website, you need to make sure that your site's URL directs to the correct DNS record so people can visit your site. On Linux-based servers, you can check the DNS of your site, or any other site, in cPanel if your host provides you with cPanel.

Instructions

    • 1

      Log in to your cPanel.

    • 2

      Click the "Network Tools" icon.

    • 3

      Enter a URL.

    • 4

Click "Look Up." cPanel displays information about the site, including the DNS records, within a few seconds.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you recently changed your DNS records, it might take up to 48 hours for them to resolve properly to the new name servers.
