How to Lubricate a 2005 KitchenAid Mixer
There are similar parts and mechanisms for 2005 model KitchenAid mixers that are easy to dissemble and repair if necessary. For example, if your mixer does not appear to be running at the speed it should, it may need to be lubricated. The motor is lubricated at the factory; but after years of use, you may need to add Benalene 930-2 lubricant, which can be purchased by contacting an authorized KitchenAid retailer. Things You'll Need
- Benalene 930-2 lubricant
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Cloth or paper towel

Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw from the top end cover of your KitchenAid mixer.

Remove the two screws that hold the top plate to access the motor within the mixer. The bearing on the top of the gear should be exposed.

Squeeze the entire contents of a 6 oz. bottle of Benalene 930-2 lubricant along the edges of the motor and shaft.

Use a small cloth or paper towel to wipe off any excess lubricant. Replace the top plate over the motor and tighten the two screws back into place.

Place the top end cover back onto the unit and insert the remaining screw. The motor is now fully lubricated and ready to run.
