Dish Network satellite TV service offers several programming packages to you as a subscriber. Each of these comes with a number of channels that you may know by name, but not necessarily by number. Whether you're switching from another television service with a different numbering scheme, or Dish Network is the first TV service you're learning, you of course want to know where your favorite channels are. Luckily, Dish Network provides guides tailored to every programming package they sell.

Step 1
Visit Dish Network's TV Channel Lineup page. Provide the name of your programming package and your zip code. If you don't know the exact name of your programming package, look at your most recent Dish Network bill to find out what they call it.

View or download the PDF channel guide that Dish Network's TV Channel Lineup search provides you. Each guide provides channel numbers, names and logos to make your search easier. For example, if you are looking for NBC, CNBC or MSNBC, and you are familiar with NBC's peacock logo, you should see those stations in the guide right away.
Step 3
Type in the corresponding channel number on your remote. Make sure the remote is set to SAT; if it is set to control another device, such as your TV or receiver, the channel change will not work.
Searching Your Channel Guide
Step 1
Browse the channels you subscribe to by hitting the "GUIDE" button while your TV and Dish Network receiver are both switched on. Hit that button until you see the words "All Sub" in the upper left corner of your screen.
Step 2
Scroll up and down using the PAGE menu, or use the up and down arrows surrounding the "SELECT" button to move individually between channels.
Step 3
Hit the "SELECT" button when you find a program you want to watch. If your Dish Network subscription includes a DVR, hitting "SELECT" on a future program will also allow you to select recording options for it.
