1
Attach a 2-by-6 lumber beam onto the wall of your house where you want the carport. This will be a supporting beam for the roof along the side of the house. Because it will be the same height as the rest of the bottom of the roof, make sure you can fit your vehicles under the beam.

2
Dig holes for your posts. You'll need at least two, one for each end of the far side of the carport, and you may want a third in the middle, between the two corner posts, in a line parallel to the side of the house opposite. Go down six to eight inches for each hole, and add an inch or two of gravel at the bottom.

3
Mix your concrete according to the directions on the packaging. Then, pour concrete into the holes around your posts after you've inserted and leveled them. Wait for the concrete around the posts to dry.

4
Attach 2-by-6 beams between the house and the two corner posts, and between the two corner posts. If you added a third post for the middle, run the beams from the house to the middle beam, and then from the middle to the far corner beams.

5
Cover the beams with plywood to make your carport roof. You'll need H brackets to connect the pieces of plywood. Make sure the plywood pieces are flush, and use the included screws to attach the brackets to the plywood. If the bracket does not come with screws, be sure to buy some that fit the holes in the bracket. Then, nail the plywood into the surrounding beams.
