How to Catch a Rooster

Catching a rooster is time consuming without a trap.

Catching roosters is a rigorous task if you are dealing with aggressive roosters with territorial tendencies. Live rooster or chicken traps work well when catching roosters because you eliminate the painstaking task of coaxing them and possibly getting attacked or scratched in the process.

Things You'll Need

• rooster/chicken live trap
• chicken feed

Instructions

1. Purchase a rooster or chicken trap.

2. Set up the trap where the rooster usually roams.

3. Place chicken feed inside the trap to lure the rooster.

4. Fasten the trap closed once the rooster enters the trap.

5. Call the humane society for information about removing the rooster from your property after you trapped it.

Tips & Warnings

• If you do not prefer traps, use a mesh bird net to catch roosters.
