How to Detect a Hacked Yahoo Account
Any email account can be hacked because of a computer virus. If your Yahoo! email account is experiencing some of the symptoms of being hacked, you should promptly change your password, making it longer and as different as possible from your other account passwords. Vary the characters to include capital letters, numbers, and punctuation marks. If you choose, you can also cancel your Yahoo! account after it has been hacked.

1
Click your Sent folder to see if there are any sent emails that you did not send. A virus or hacker may send out mass emails to your contacts.
-
2
Ask if your contacts have received an email from you that includes a suspicious link. If one of your contacts clicks the link, the virus may infiltrate her computer and replicate itself.
-
-
3
Click your Contacts folder and check if any new contacts unfamiliar to you have been added. Viruses and hackers may add new contacts to your account.
-
4
Check if anyone you do not know is sending you messages through Yahoo! chat, which is linked to your email account. Yahoo! chat is a small screen in the bottom right corner of your Yahoo! email. Random people may send you chat messages if your account has been hacked.
