How to Reset Earrings Into a Ring
You lose an earring from a favorite pair. You discover a beautiful lone earring while shopping at a flea market. Or you already have a drawer full of junk jewelry purchased or found over the years. Whatever the scenario, you may not realize it, but you can refashion a single earring into a ring to keep as a memento or give as a special gift. So think twice before you throw away a stray earring or pass up a unique piece of costume jewelry.

Buy a ring base from a craft store or use a base from an old ring by removing the decoration and cutting away any rough edges.

Choose an earring to attach to the ring base. Make sure the earring is the right size for the ring base.

Use wire cutters to snip away the earring post.

Smooth any remaining sharp edges with a metal file.

Secure the earring to the ring base with epoxy or jewelry/craft glue and let dry.

Tips & Warnings
Prop the ring up to dry for at least an hour.
Use a small paintbrush to apply the adhesive.
An adult should supervise children under 12 years old due to risk of injury from sharp metal edges.
