How to Find My Granddaughter
Unfortunately, sometimes events happen in our lives that cause grandparents to be separated from their grandchildren. These events may include death or family fights, which make it very easy to loose track of granddaughters. Parents and children may disagree on how to raise young ones, which may cause the parents of a granddaughter to exclude a grandparent from her life. If you have "lost" your granddaughter, there are many ways you can find her to get in touch with her.

1
Contact your children if you are on good terms with them. See if they have any information on the whereabouts of your granddaughter.
-
2
Write to the public records department of the state she was born in. Public records are usually housed in the state's capitol city and will provide information such as date of birth and may provide current residence information.

Search for your granddaughter on a website such as Facebook or Myspace. Simply type her name in the search function and see if she comes up. You can send her a message directly through the website, and depending on how much information she has available, you may be able to find her email address or phone number.

Sign up for services with a service that reunites families. This will cost a nominal fee, so this may be your last resort. However, these companies often have successful track records. Contact the company and ask to speak to someone who has found a relative through their service to check them out.

Tips & Warnings
Respect your granddaughter if she doesn't want to speak to you. Under certain circumstances, she may be unprepared to speak to you. Give her your contact information so that she can contact you if she wishes.
