How to Create Character Sprites in GIMP
The GNU Image Manipulation Program, or GIMP, is a free photo-editing and graphics application that many use in preference to pricey commercial products. But aside from the ability to repair photos or create graphics, GIMP can also be used to create simple animations. For example, many people like to have little Graphics Interchange Format, or GIF, animations called character sprites. These are often used on websites and in forums. It is easy to create a character sprite in GIMP using a picture of yourself.
