How Make Victorian Beaded Jewelry
Create your own Victorian beaded jewelry using a combination of antique-style metal jewelry components and rich colored crystal beads. The elaborate styles of Victorian jewelry often incorporated a focal piece within the designs, such as a large colorful stone pendant surrounded by metal filigree. Jewelry supply retailers offer a variety of metal and stone elements that you can use to create elaborate and decorative jewelry pieces. Keep the metals consistent throughout the piece and follow a symmetrical pattern with the beads to make these elegant designs.

1
Cut two 22-inch long strands of beading wire. Insert one end of one wire through one of the two loops on one side of a decorative copper-end bar.
-
2
Slide the wire through the loop 1 inch and fold it over the loop. Slide a crimp bead over the open end of the same wire to rest against the fold. Press the crimp bead with crimping pliers.

-
3
Follow the same process to attach the second strand of beading wire to the second loop on the same copper end bar.
-
4
Slide an alternating pattern of 3mm and 6mm crystal bicone beads over the open ends of both wires until you have 10 inches of beads on each strand. End with the 3mm beads. Beads with rich, deep colors such as red, black and blue look authentically Victorian.
-
5
Fit an antiqued two-strand rectangular copper spacer with a rhinestone center that coordinates with the beads over both open ends of the wires. Slide the spacer to rest against the last beads on both strands.
-
6
Follow the same pattern to add beads to both wire strands from the spacer to within 1 inch of the end of the wires. Add a crimp bead to the ends of both wires.
-
7
Fold the ends of the wires over the loops on the second copper end bar. Slide each wire through the crimp beads and through the first few beads on the respective strands. Crimp the beads.
-
8
Open three copper jump rings with round nose pliers. Attach one section of a copper clasp to each end bar with a copper jump ring. Fit a crimp bead cover over each crimp bead and press with crimping pliers.
-
9
Slide the third open jump ring through the bail at the top of a 12mm or larger Victorian style focal component. Slide the ring through the bottom opening of the copper slide in the center of the necklace. Close the ring.
