How to Make a Pixel Pikachu
Pixels are the tiny squares that make up a digital image. These squares are arranged in rows and columns and are colored so that they create a cohesive image when viewed from far away. In the "Pokémon" video games, the character of Pikachu is represented as a "sprite." This sprite is the small image file used by the game to represent the character. This sprite is also made up of pixels. By reproducing this sprite on a piece of graph paper, you can create your own pixel-based Pikachu.

Open the Pikachu image in an image editor program such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Paint. Zoom into the image using the program tools until you can see the individual pixels that make up the image. Open the options for the program and select "Show Grid" to make the pixels easier to distinguish from one another.

Color in the squares on your graph paper as if they were the pixels on the Pikachu image. Treat each graph square as a single pixel. Use corresponding colors and make sure you leave enough room on the paper to create the whole image. If you start on the right side of the Pikachu image, start on the right side of the graph paper so that your pixel drawing can extend to the left.
