1
Spray paint the pine cones any color you like. Metallic colors such as gold and silver turn out great, but other colors can be used. Lie down some newspaper so you won't get paint on anything. This is probably best done outside on a porch or on the grass. Let the pine cones dry before continuing.

Glue embellishments to the tips of the pine cones. Use large, sparkly sequins and crystals to make the pine cones shine. Use a hot glue gun and glue as many as you desire to your pine cone until it looks the way you want it to. Use many colors or pick a theme, such as a silver pine cone with silver rhinestones for a more elegant look.

Cut some ribbon to form a loop hanger to hang the pine cone on the tree. Use the hot glue gun to glue the ribbon to the top of the pine cone, and tie a knot to form the hanger. Make sure the loop will be big enough to hang the pine cone.

Embellish the pine cone with more ribbon if you like. Tie a bow and glue it to the top of the pine cone to add a decorative touch. This ribbon can be a different color from the loop or the same color.
