How to Build for "Guild Wars"

When you start creating your character in "Guild Wars" there are several things to consider. You'll find over 90 choices for customizing your character, and your choices determine how your character fights, dresses and interacts with the environment around him. You are allowed four characters per account, with the option to buy more character slots. Create different combinations to decide which style you like playing. It can take a few levels to "get the hang" of a certain fighting style.

Instructions

    • 1

Make your character by deciding the basics first. Choose a male or female to get started. Pick which class you want to play. Choices include, but are not limited to Warriors, Rangers and Monks.

    • 2

Customize the facial features and hair. Name your character to complete making him and prepare to further customize.

    • 3

Look through the primary professions and choose one you want to work on. Your profession allows you to gather valuable material and turn it into a usable item. Sell the materials raw or sell created items to make money.

    • 4

Use the "K" key to check your character's known skills. Relocate to a town when you are ready to change out your skills. You are only allowed eight skills on your bar at a time.

    • 5

Use your skills as they pertain to your party and your environment. If you are entering a player-versus-player area, your skill selection might differ from that of a player-verses-environment area. Some skills work better for pvp and others for pve.

    • 6

Look at the members of your party or raid group. When there are two or more of the same class, choose your build differently than the other like-players in your group.

Tips & Warnings

  • Build your character with skills you feel most comfortable with or change your skills for each encounter. Your skills should compliment each other and work together to defeat enemies.
