Step 1
Use rubber stamps to decorate photo albums, notebooks, stationery, holiday cards and holiday wrapping paper. You can use either one stamp design, or two or more complementary designs to embellish the paper.
-
Step 2
Use stamps and fabric paint to create a decorative border or all-over design on a piece of fabric or an existing garment. Make sure that the paint you use is compatible with your fabric. This is a great way to a personal touch to tablecloths and napkins.
-
Step 3
Use stamps on hard surfaces like wood or metal. You can decorate trunks, jewelry boxes, picture frames - whatever you like. Again, make sure that the paint you use is appropriate for the item's surface.
-
Step 4
Stamp your walls and ceilings. Create elegant decorative borders or decorate a child's room with stamps that he or she has helped pick out.
-
Step 5
Practice on scrap paper or fabric before you stamp on the desired material. This will allow you to work out your design placement and symmetry.
-
Step 6
Stamp on a level surface. Apply and remove the stamp evenly so that all the design elements are applied and removed as one.
-
Step 7
Apply paint to your stamps with a paint pen, small brush or the traditional stamp pad. Make sure that the paint is applied evenly and try not to apply too much to the stamp at once. It's much easier to fill in blank or lightly painted spaces than it is to remove excess paint.
-
Step 8
Rinse stamps immediately after use.
