How to Read Deer-Feeding Charts
If you are a deer hunter who likes to research and predict when deer in your area are feeding, use a solunar deer-feeding table. The table is color-coded and formatted to tell you the day and night feeding times of game, such as deer. You can access deer-feeding charts online and print them to take with you on hunting trips.

Locate your time zone, which is indicated by a color. Locate the time-zone rules. These are bold, vertical bars that stretch down the map. Locate the 4-minute rule marker closest to your city or deer-hunting area. You will see the 4-minute rules stretched across the top and bottom of the table. The top lists positive rules in 4-minute increments and the bottom lists negative rules in 4-minute increments. "Field and Stream" advises that if your city or deer-hunting area is to the right of the the bold, vertical rule in your time zone, subtract the number at the bottom of the chart from the time listed on the time table below the chart. If your city or deer-hunting area is to the left of the rule, add the time indicated by the bold, vertical rule to the time on the table below the chart. Don't forget to add one hour during daylight saving time.
