1
Disconnect the curtain from the curtain rod rings. In most cases, the rings stay closed due to a small pin molded into one end of the ring. Pull the cut end of the ring apart to separate the pin and then pull the curtain off the ring.
-
2
Locate the large thumbscrews located in front of the traverse curtain rod on the mounting brackets located at each end of the rod. Turn the thumbscrews counterclockwise until the treaded shaft of the screw no longer makes contact with the curtain rod.
-
-
3
Lift the rod up and off the mounting brackets and place it off to the side.
-
4
Remove the end-cap from one end of the new rod and slide the curtain rod rings supplied with the new rod onto the rod. Replace the end-cap.
-
5
Rest the new rod on the mounting brackets and then rotate the rod so the mounting holes in the side of the rod line up with the thumbscrew.
-
6
Rotate the thumbscrews clockwise until the threaded shaft threads into the rod. This keeps the rod from falling off the brackets.
-
7
Reattach the curtain to the curtain rod rings.
