OpenOffice.org Calc has the capability to create large spreadsheets along with graphs for easy comparison of your information. Creating a graph that uses multiple columns of information in Calc is a basic function that can be accomplished in a few clicks of the mouse. Once you get the hang of creating a graph in Calc, you will find that you can create graphs using any number of columns that you want, even if they are on multiple spreadsheets.

      Double-click the spreadsheet you want to graph in OpenOffice.org to open it.

      Highlight the columns you need to graph by selecting them with your mouse. For example, if you want to graph the information in columns D, E and F then click and hold with the mouse button on D and drag to F before releasing the button.

      Click "Insert" and select "Chart."

      Select the type of chart you want to use. For example, if you want a line chart that shows the flow of points then select "XY (Scatter)" then select "Points and Lines" to the right.

      Click "Finish" and the graph will be added to your spreadsheet automatically.
