DIY: How to Make Art From Reclaimed Wood
Reclaimed wood can be found at salvage yards or you can often purchase it directly from the owners of run down barns or homes slotted for demolition. Look for doors and cabinets at garage sales for reclaimed wood. Choose reclaimed wood in different colors and choose interior and exterior wood sections and you'll have enough reclaimed wood to make artwork of any size and shape.
Things You'll Need

Instructions

-
1
Cut several pieces of reclaimed wood into planks. Make the planks the same thickness while varying the length of each plank.
-
2
Lay the planks on the floor so they make a large rectangle or square. Trim any edge pieces accordingly to achieve the correct shape.
-
-
3
Cut a piece of plywood so it's slightly smaller than the final size of the reclaimed wood art piece.
-
4
Use construction adhesive to secure the reclaimed wood planks to the plywood. Let the artwork dry overnight.
-
5
Attach picture hanging hardware to the back of the plywood. Use heavy duty D-rings so they support the weight of the artwork.
