How to Expand TiVo HD

TiVo HD is a high-definition DVR (digital video recorder) for use with a connected television set. TiVo provides numerous features and options to its subscribers to ensure they can find programming they like, record programming they find, and never miss a show with its smart programming features. TiVo records all programming to its internal hard drive. In the event that a user needs more recording space, they can opt to install the Western Digital DVR Expander.

Instructions

1. Remove the power cord from the back of the TiVo.

2. Connect the Western Digital DVR Expander one end of the supplied eSata cable to the TiVo using the and the other end into the expander. Plug the expander into an electrical outlet.

3. Wait 15 seconds and then plug your TiVo's power cord back in. Follow the instructions on-screen to complete the setup.

Tips & Warnings

• The expander can be used with TiVo Series3, TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL, TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL.

• The Western Digital Expander can only be assigned to one TiVo at a time. If the expander is switched to another TiVo, it will lose all recordings previously stored.

• The Western Digital Expander can not be connected via USB cable.
