It may seem difficult to draw six connected squares with a single, non-intersecting line, but once you know the trick, you'll remember it forever. Think of the six squares as the six faces of an unfolded cube.

Draw four equal line segments going left, down, right and up to make a square.

Continue drawing line segments right, down, and left to make a second square.

Without lifting your pencil, draw line segments down, right and up to make a third square.

Continue drawing the line right, down and left to make the fourth square.

Continue drawing down, right and up to make the fifth square.

Draw right, down and left to make the sixth square. You now have six connected squares made from a single, non-crossing line.
