How to Play an MP3 on Facebook
Among the file types Facebook allows to be shared via the "Link" feature of its News Feed are MP3 song files that have been hosted online somewhere. Unlike links to websites and certain other types of content, however, you need not navigate away from Facebook to listen to the MP3 song. You can listen to the song within the Facebook window or tab you have open.

Log in to Facebook. To view content posted to your friends' profiles or your News Feed, you must be signed in to your Facebook account.

Scroll through your Facebook News Feed until you find the song in question. Alternatively, navigate to the profile of a friend you know has recently attached an MP3 file to one of her posts and find it on her Wall.

Click the "Play" icon located next to the song's name to play it within Facebook. Click the name of the song or artist to be taken to the location from which the file was linked, where you have the option to save it to your computer for later enjoyment.
