How to Make Navajo Turquoise Earrings thumbnail
Turquoise beads make attractive necklaces as well as earrings.

The American Southwest is a significant source of turquoise. The area is also home to the Navajo, who have used the precious stone in their jewelry for centuries. Traditional Navajo beliefs hold that turquoise is a sacred healing stone that absorbs negative energy. Paired with silver, the turquoise stone will make attractive earrings.

    • 2

Grasp the wire with the tip of the needle nose pliers. Twist the pliers to make the wire into a loop.

    • 3

Open the loop slightly with the pliers. Insert the loop in the bottom opening of a fishhook earring wire.

    • 4

Close the loop with the pliers securely. Repeat all steps to make a second Navajo turquoise earring.
