How to Export a Slideshow From iPhoto With the Same Settings

How to Export a Slideshow From iPhoto With the Same Settings thumbnail
You can export your iPhoto slideshow as a video on your Mac.

When you set up and watch a slideshow of your photos on your Mac with iPhoto, the free photo management application that Apple includes on every Mac, you might want to later watch the slideshow on another computer or a portable media player. If you adjusted settings for the slideshow, such as the amount of time each image appears, or the music that you hear while the slideshow plays, you can export the slideshow as a QuickTime video, and it will appear the same way it does in iPhoto.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "iPhoto" in the Dock on your Mac to launch the application. The names of your saved slideshows appear under "Slideshows" in the left pane of the iPhoto application window.

    • 2

Click the name of the slideshow you want to export.

    • 3

Click the "Export" button at the bottom of the iPhoto window. A dialog box appears.

    • 4

Click a check box under "Sizes" based on where you plan to watch the slideshow, such as "Mobile" for a mobile phone or "Large" for a computer screen.

    • 5

Click the "Export" button. A dialog box appears. Click the folder on your Mac where you want to save the exported slideshow, and then click "OK." You aren't given an opportunity to rename the slideshow during export; the exported video will have the same name as the slideshow in iPhoto. You can click the name of the exported video in the folder on your Mac and type a new name if you want to change it.
