GE Profile washers have removable back panels that allow you to access the interior of your washing machine. Removing the back panel of your GE Profile washer only takes a few minutes and provides you access to its interior if you need to make repairs. Scoot your GE Profile washer away from the wall, allowing you to have enough space to fit behind it to reach the hoses.

Remove your GE washer's electrical plug from the power outlet.

Disconnect the drain hose and both water hoses from the back of your GE Profile washer. You may be able to twist them off with your hand or you may need to use slip joint pliers. The drain hose is connected to the stationary tub and the water hoses are connected to the hot and cold water lines that run from your house.

Locate the screws that hold the back panel on.

Unscrew the screws in each of the four corners and along the edges of the washer using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Depending on your model, the number of screws may vary.

Pull the back panel off your newer model GE Profile washer.
