How to Cook With Aluminum
Aluminum foil has many properties that make it good for cooking. First, aluminum is a good conductor of heat. Second, aluminum foil can withstand high heat and can form to just about any shape. Third, its light weight makes it a good cooking companion on camping and backpacking trips, where keeping weight to a minimum is essential. Tear off a square of aluminum foil and fold it in half.

Seal the sides by folding the edges over a few times. Once finished, the foil takes the form of a pouch.

Insert meat, vegetables or any other food into the foil pouch. Add a liquid marinade to the pouch as well. When heated, the liquid marinade steams and flavors the food.

Seal the top of the pouch by folding the edge over a few times. Inspect all the edges to ensure there are no leaks.

Place the pouch over a campfire or barbecue grill, or place it in the oven. Allow the contents to cook before removing. Cooking times will vary depending on the contents.

Remove the foil pouch from the fire with a pair of tongs. Cut the pouch open with scissors or a knife. Keep your face away from the opening, because the steam can burn your skin. Your food is ready to serve.

Tips & Warnings
Lay a sheet of aluminum foil on a baking sheet to make cookies crisper.
Cover pots and pans with foil if you don't have a lid.
Cover the edges of a pie crust with foil to distribute heat evenly and prevent burning.
