Full "StarCraft" Installation
"Starcraft" is a real-time, strategy game released by Blizzard Entertainment in 1997. The fast-paced play has made it a difficult game to master and has led to countless competitions throughout the world. The popularity of "Starcraft" as well as the expansion, "Brood War," and sequel, "Starcraft 2," has helped to create a popular tournament scene. You can join the fun of playing "Starcraft" by installing the game on your computer.

Disc Installation

Insert the Starcraft CD into your CD, DVD or BluRay ROM drive.

Select "Install and play Starcraft" when the installation screen appears.

Type the CD key found on the disc case when prompted.
Digital Installation

Visit the Battlenet website and create an account.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Add a game."

Type in the CD key you received when you purchased the game. This key is located inside of the game packaging.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Battlenet website and click "Game client downloads."

Select Windows or Macintosh to download the file downloader.

Save the downloader to your computer and run it.

Enter your CD or retail key when prompted during the installation.

Tips & Warnings
Using the digital download of "Starcraft" will allow you to play the game without having to have the disc in your CD drive all the time.
Do not lose or throw away your CD or retail key since this can make it difficult to re-register your game.
