How to Make a Capital V Friendship Bracelet
A capital V friendship bracelet, also called a chevron bracelet, has a weave pattern that looks like a series of letter "V"s. The bracelet is simple enough for younger children to make and the style adds design and texture to a basic friendship bracelet. You'll need to use at least two colors of embroidery floss to see the "V" or chevron pattern. You're welcome to use more if you want a more colorful bracelet.

- At least three strands of embroidery floss 60 inches long
- Tape
- Scissors

Lay the strands of embroidery floss next to each other, then fold in half. Number each color strand and arrange them so that color 1 is on the outside. If you're using three colors, arrange the strands like this: 1, 2, 3; 3, 2, 1.

Tie a knot at the folded part of the strands and tape to a flat surface.

Fold strand 1 over strand 2 on the left side. Strand 1 should form the shape of a "4" over strand 2. Loop the end of strand 1 under the "4" shape and pull tightly to make a knot.

Fold strand 1 over strand 3 on the left side, forming a "4." Loop the end of the thread under the "4" and pull tightly to make a knot. Strand 1 will now be in the middle of the strands and strand 2 will be on the outside on the left.

Fold strand 1 on the right over strand 2 on the right and make a knot. Fold strand 1 on the right over strand 3 and make a knot. Both strands 1 will be in the middle of the strands.

Loop strand 1 on the right over strand 1 on the left and make a knot as you did with the other strands.

Fold strand 2 on the left over strand 3 and make a "4" shape, then loop under and pull to make a knot. Fold strand 2 over strand 1 and make a knot. Strand 2 will now be in the center.

Fold strand 2 on the right over strand 3 and make a knot, then fold strand 2 over strand 1 and make a knot. Fold strand 2 on the right over strand 2 on the left and make a knot.

Continue to knot the strands over each other until the bracelet is the length you'd like. As you work, a "V" pattern will emerge on the bracelet. Cut the excess threads and tie the bracelet around your wrist.
