Operating Instructions for the Hypercom T7Plus

If you own a small business, you know how important it can be to accept credit and debit cards for purchases. The Hypercom T7Plus is a model of credit card machine that you can purchase and have installed in your business to get more customers. Once the machine is professionally installed, learning how to use the T7Plus is easy. You will need to enter the card number or swipe the card, then follow the onscreen instructions.

      Finalize the transaction using your cash register. Figure out the total plus tax that the customer will need to pay. Ask them if they want to use cash for part of the transaction, and if so, conduct the transaction as normal and deduct what they paid from the final amount.

      Take the customer's card and swipe it through the card reader on the side of the machine. If the customer's card cannot be read - this will be shown by continuous "Card Read Error" messages - or if the customer is paying by phone, you can enter in the card number using the keypad on the front of the device.

      Give the PIN pad to the customer and instruct them to press the button that corresponds to the type of card they are using (savings, check, credit). Once this occurs, you will see "Purch" appear on the display along with "$0.00." Use the keypad to enter in the remaining total from the purchase.

      Instruct the customer to use the PIN pad to enter in their PIN number if you see "Key Pin" on the display. Otherwise, press the "Enter" button to finalize the transaction. If the transaction was approved you will see a message saying "Approved." If you see "Please Sign" below this, ask the customer to sign a copy of the receipt that will be printed.
