How to Make Letters With Diamonds

Bling up your phone or iPod with diamond-looking studs.

A common trend recently is writing your name or a phrase on your phone, iPod, computer or other electronic device in diamond-looking gems. If you're using real diamonds, it's best to give the diamonds and your device -- or the outside cover of your device -- to a jeweler to have the diamonds professional set. If you use crystals or cubic zirconia, you can quickly and easily learn to make letters with the studs.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the front and back covers of your electronic device, if you're adding the diamonds to a phone, iPod or other device. If you cannot remove the cover, power off your device before starting.

    • 2

Draw the letters or your name directly onto the device using a pencil. Draw the letters as creatively, large or small as you'd like. Keep in mind that you should make the letters a little thicker than you normally would, to have enough room to glue each diamond crystal.

    • 3

Trace over the letters with crystal glue. Crystal glue can be found at any arts and crafts or jewelry making store. This glue is designed for permanently adding crystals to devices and smooth surface items without the glue fading or discoloring.

    • 4

Pick up one diamond crystal with a pair of tweezers, and place the diamond crystal on the glue; start from the left and work your way right.

    • 5

Continue to add the diamond crystals one crystal at a time to the device.

    • 6

Let the glue dry for one hour, before putting the cover back onto your device or powering your device back on.
