How to Find Yellow Berry Pyracanthas
Pyracanthas are shrubs with shiny green leaves and ornamental berries. Sometimes called firethorn, pyracantha is a member of the rose family, but it is better known for its berries than for its flowers. Pyracanthas form clusters of small, brightly colored berries that add interest to the fall and winter landscape. Most varieties produce red berries, but some berries are orange or yellow. The Teton and Gold Rush varieties produce yellow berries. Whether you are looking to view this shrub or purchase one, it isn't difficult to find in the right climate, particularly in Southern California. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Peruse landscapes in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 6 to 9 for yellow-berried pyracanthas. Some yellow-berried pyracanthas, such as Gold Rush, are less cold tolerant and grow only in the warmer zones. They are easiest to spot in fall and winter when the berries are at full color.

Look for yellow-berried pyracanthas in partial to full sun. They are often grown as a hedge, but a pyracantha also can be grown as an individual specimen. Sometimes they are grown on a wire structure called an espalier.
