How to Connect Yahoo Email to Thunderbird

Thunderbird is an open-source personal information management and email client released by Mozilla. Thunderbird is capable of connecting to POP3 and IMAP email servers to download, view and send email messages. Thunderbird also maintains an address book with all of your email contacts. You can configure Thunderbird to connect to the Yahoo! email servers to access your email account through a secured connection. The connection is encrypted with SSL so that it cannot be captured and read during transport from the Yahoo! servers to the Thunderbird client.

Instructions

1. Open Thunderbird.

2. Click the "File" menu. Click "New" and then click "Mail Account."

3. Enter your name, Yahoo! email address and password. Then click "Continue."

4. Click "Create Account" after the Yahoo! email server settings are detected automatically.
