How to Make a Cub Scout Scrapbook

Scrapbooking is a popular way of displaying your important memories by incorporating pictures, memorable items and journaling into various pages. For a Cub Scout scrapbook, little kids can make their own by creating a page, or multiple pages, for each level of the Cub Scouts that they complete.

Instructions

  1. Tigers

    • 1

Place two pieces of tiger print 12-by-12-inch card stock beside each other. If you can't find tiger print card stock, attach black strips to orange card stock to create your own.

    • 2

Attach solid black card stock to the top of each piece of tiger print card stock. Be sure to center the pieces so that the tiger print card stock becomes an even border on all sides.

    • 3

Attach orange card stock to the back of all pictures, memorabilia and journaling that you will include on the page. The orange card stock should create a 1/2-inch border on all sides of the item you place on top. Tiger cubs must meet 15 requirements in order to earn the badge, so include memories of meeting these requirements in the two pages.

    • 4

Attach the items with their card stock backings to the 12-by-12-inch pages.

    Wolves

    • 5

Lay two pieces of gray 12-by-12-inch card stock side by side.

    • 6

Cut photos, badges and journal entries into triangles. There are 12 requirements to pass the wolf level, so try to incorporate each of these into the pages.

    • 7

Attach different shades of gray card stock to the backs of all photos, badges and journal entries, leaving a 1/2-inch border on all sides.

    • 8

Attach triangles in a row to the bottom half of the 12-by-12 pieces of gray card stock, being sure to line up the two pages.

    • 9

Create two yellow eyes with black pupils using card stock.

    • 10

Attach the two eyes above the line of images and writing. The triangles become the teeth of the wolf.

    Bears

    • 11

Lay two pieces of 12-by-12-inch brown card stock side by side.

    • 12

Tear strips of printed card stock containing shades of brown.

    • 13

Attach the strips that show the white part where the tear was made to the solid brown card stock. You can do this haphazardly; just make sure that straight edges of the patterned card stock stay on the edge of the solid brown card stock.

    • 14

Attach pictures, badges, memorabilia and journaling to pieces of patterned card stock and tear the edges of the card stock to create a 1/2-inch border. There are 24 bear achievements spanning four levels, and kids must meet 12 of these in order to receive the bear badge.

    • 15

Attach items with their backing to the two large pieces of card stock.

    Webelos

    • 16

Lay two pieces of 12-by-12-inch yellow card stock side by side.

    • 17

Attach light blue card stock to the backs of all pictures, memorabilia, badges and journaling to create a 1/2-inch border.

    • 18

Attach dark blue card stock to the light blue to create a second border. You can vary the size of the border for each item.

    • 19

Attach to the 12-by-12-inch pieces of card stock in whatever order you like.

    Arrow of Light

    • 20

Lay down one piece of light blue 12-by-12-inch card stock.

    • 21

Attach a piece of dark blue card stock to the back of an 8x10 photo of yourself receiving the arrow of light award to create a 1/2-inch border.

    • 22

Attach the picture, with its border, to the large piece of card stock.

    • 23

Draw small stars and star bursts using white, acid-free glue all over the page. You can put the glue on the photo as well.

    • 24

Sprinkle various shades of blue and yellow glitter on the page and shake off excess. The glitter will stay where the glue is and create fireworks on the page.
