Instructions for a Hallmark Recordable Storybook
With Hallmark Recordable Storybooks, you are able to record your own voice reading a familiar story so that your loved one will always have you with them, no matter how far away you may be. Hallmark suggests Recordable Storybooks as a gift from a parents who is about to be deployed, as a way to improve a child's reading skills, and as an heirloom from a loved one who is about to pass. The Hallmark Recordable Storybooks are available in a variety of titles, giving you many choices for the perfect story to give.

Select a quiet, well-lit area to record your Hallmark Recordable Storybook. Hallmark advises staying away from direct sunlight or other intense direct light.

Open the book to the first page, holding the book about a foot to a foot and a half from you. Press the "Rec" button at the bottom of the page and wait for the prompt. The prompt will instruct you to begin recording. After the tone, read the text on the first page.

Press the "Stop" button when you've finished reading the text. Your recorded voice will be played back to you. If you are happy with the recording, move on to the next page and repeat Step One. If you are not happy with the recording, press the "Rec" button again and rerecord yourself.

Continue through the book, repeating Step One and recording your voice reading the text on each page until you have reached the end of the book.

Save your recording by using a screwdriver to unscrew and open the battery pack at the bottom of the book. Slide the switch inside the battery pack to "Lock" and close the battery pack. Use the screwdriver to tighten the screw on the battery pack back in place. This will ensure that your recorded message isn't accidentally deleted or recorded over.

Tips & Warnings
To reset and erase the entire Storybook recording, first unscrew the battery compartment and slide the switch to "Unlock." Then press the "Rec" and "Stop" buttons at the same time and them down hold for about four seconds. A tone will sound signaling that the recordings have all been erased.
Keep the book closed when not in use to help keep batteries fresh.
Keep your Storybook safe by keeping it away from things like excessive heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
